Authenticity shines at China Blue, making Asian food enthusiasts rave about the real flavors found in every dish. Many guests adore the Malaysian laksa and wonton soup, often highlighting their freshness and rich flavors. The deep-fried sea bass garners praise for its crispy exterior and moist interior, ensuring a delightful texture with every bite. The restaurant’s milk tea impresses diners as well, providing a perfect balance of flavors that complements spicy dishes beautifully. Affordable pricing makes China Blue an inviting option for diverse crowds, especially when they can share generous portions of multiple dishes. Friendly and attentive service often earns acclaim, making each dining experience warm and welcoming.

Most Disliked

Some visitors express slight disappointment over the dining room’s need for a minor update, suggesting a freshening up could further enhance the dining experience. The hallway leading to the main dining area can feel a bit daunting, but it adds a bit of charm once you reach your destination. Additionally, some guests prefer more vegetarian and vegan options, feeling that selection could be elevated. On busy nights, especially Saturdays, the restaurant tends to fill quickly, leading to a bustling atmosphere that may not suit everyone’s taste. Remember, reserving a table is best for peak times, as it mitigates wait times. A few diners have noted the need to call a day in advance for specific dishes like roast duck, indicating better planning could enhance their experience.

We visited China Blue for weekday dinner, we made a reservation ahead of time but it seemed like there were still some spaces if you come at around 6pm. We ordered Malaysian laksa wanton and wanton soup (both very delicious - sorry the photos are not all there), and we ordered deep fried sea bass with sweet sour sauce, mapo fofu, and king prawn fried rice!! I would say the sea bass surprised us as they were able to keep the inside moist and crispy outside! The other dishes were also very tasty. Very recommended for authentic Malaysian / Chinese food. Keep in mind you need to phone for roast duck a day ahead so that they can prepare it for you (we missed this but will definitely come back for the roast duck)! Overall very recommended!

It’s definitely worth venturing down the long hallway and up the stairs to the dining room. Really genuine authentic flavors. One of the better wine list for an Asian restaurant in town nice to see. Very friendly and attentive service, dining room could use a little update.

Reasonably priced food. Authentic Chinese food! I know this is random but we always love to order the Thai style crispy chicken dish there it’s awesome! 4 main dishes with rice and tea for only 18£ per pax (5 of us ate together) and food was good portion too!

Delicious and authentic Chinese food in Glasgow area. Came back again after our first visit. We especially like the 梅菜扣肉 (pork with salted vegetable) which was marinated well and not too salty. The roasted duck 烧鸭 was good too, although it was sold out when we came the first time. The service staff were also very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for Chinese food in central Glasgow.

Amazing food!! Ate here a few months ago and have not stopped thinking about what I had since then. Highly recommend the fish and milk teas. Fish was the star of the show, I would eat that every week if I could!
